Oberseminar mit dem Thema "Geschichte des Dokumentarfilms". Sie beschäftigt sich mit Leni Riefenstahls "Olympia 1936". Sehr großes Literaturverzeichnis und detaillierte Seqeunzsprotokolle beider Filme , Abstract: Im Hinblick auf die technischen Innovationen und der Darstellungen im Film wird untersucht, ob Leni Riefenstahls Olympia ein Paradigma des dokumentarischen Sportfilms darstellt, oder als propagandistischer Dokumentarfilm zu handeln ist. Der Schwerpunkt der Betrachtung liegt daher auf den eingesetzten filmischen Mittel: In wieweit sind sie im Bezug auf die Darstellung des Sport innovativ Stellen sie ein Mittel dar, um eine propagandistische Wirkung zu erzielen Um diesen Fragen nachzugehen ist es wichtig, Riefenstahls biografischen Hintergrund im ersten Teil der Untersuchung zu betrachten. Im Anschluss wird der Frage nach dem Auftraggeber des Filmes nachgegangen. Danach werden die Begriffe Dokumentarfilm, Propagandafilm und Sportfilm kurz erläutern und mit dem Olympia-Film in Zusammenhang gesetzt. Erst wenn die Begriffe voneinander abgegrenzt wurden ist eine Zuordnung des Filmes möglich. Der größte Teil der Arbeit wird die darauf folgende Untersuchung der Produktion einnehmen. Die technischen und filmischen Mittel werden auf deren Wirkung untersucht, Riefenstahls „Stil" wird an geeignete Beispiel versucht nachzuweisen und die ästhetischen Mittel, die sich immer wieder bemerkbar machen, herausgearbeitet. In beiden Filmen - „Fest der Völker" und „Fest der Schönheit" - sind ihre Ästhetisierungen zu finden. Einige Beispiel werden hier aufgezeigt und mit einer szenischen Auswahl belegt.
